Sight Concern – Art and craft

Description

We are delighted to be collaborating with Sight Concern, Worcestershire delivering art, crafts, pottery and ceramics sessions for people and their families living with a visual impairment and sight loss.

Our sessions are of a sensory and tactile nature to enable an uplifting, inclusive and engaging experience.    All materials are included and tutors will provide guidance.

These are FREE and available to book direct with Sight Concern 01905 723245 and will take place at different locations:

Art sculpture canvas – Wednesday 3rd May 2023,  10:30am to 12:30pm.

Worcester City Art Gallery and Museum, Foregate Street, Worcester WR1 1DT

Using a canvas board as a base, you will sculpt and mould mod-roc plaster of Paris strips into shapes and patterns, adding other embellishments and colour as you wish.  You can take away your artwork the same day.

Pottery experience  – Tuesday 30th May 2023,  10:00am to 12:00pm.

Sight Concern, The Bradbury Centre, 2 Sansome Walk, Worcester WR1 1LH

Enjoy an incredibly sensory session using a pottery wheel and a hand-building project using coils.  Both decorated using soft coloured slips.  Your items will be fired by Arts and Wonder in their kilns and returned to you at a later date.

For more information, accessible information and to book either session, please contact Sight Concern 01905 723245.
